After all that fun in the snow, it was back to more serious activities today for Winnie. After Henry had made a start over the last few days, it was Winnie's turn today to help make progress in our willow coppice. The willows we planted when we first moved here 6 years ago are ready to be coppiced. And instead of cutting the logs into firewood in the field and then having to move them up to the barn by cart or sled, we decided to pull the whole trees through the field nearer to the barn where they get processed for firewood. Winnie was more than eager to do something useful, and the trees weren't heavy really, so she didn't even get out of breath. Or she is just extremely fit after all that ski joring!
