Just for a few days, we took a trip to the North-East of Germany, the County of Brandenburg. Our destination was the Uckermark, a region only 80 km away from Berlin, but so utterly deserted that it was hard to believe that millions and millions of people were within a one-hour train ride of this most stunning and fascinating region.
Of course, we couldn't have gone away for so long without a "horse connection", so I had organised us a horse-drawn caravan which one could rent locally from an enterprise called "Celine Caravans".
If you are interested in this kind of holiday, have a look at the website: www.celine-caravan.de. The caravan was great, the horse friendly and the route stunning.....Although the canvas was leaking heavily after heavy rainfall on the last morning, and it was a good moment to say good-bye to Rosie and our temporary home!
